  4. Welcome to Vivid Interactive and HOT SLOTS!. You are about to embark on an
  5. Interactive Adventure through cyberspace. Admiral James challenges all comers
  6. to compete with him in the HOT SLOTS Game Arena! If you're lucky enough
  7. to defeat him, you can accomplish your mission and bring him back to earth...

  10. Please note the following instructions and guidelines for installing and
  11. using HOT SLOTS!

  16. INSTALLATION
  17. ------------------------------

  19. This program uses Apple's Quicktime to play back the movies you will
  20. experience. We've included a folder called "Place in System" which
  21. contains Quicktime 2.0 (if you don't already have Quicktime available
  22. to your System). Open the "Place in System" folder and drag the Quicktime
  23. icon into your closed System Folder. The files will automatically be
  24. placed into the proper locations (into your System "Extensions" folder).
  25. Systems using System 7.1.2 or later may run better with the additional
  26. PowerPlug Extension (see your Apple Computer "System Information" in
  27. your user manual). We recommend that you run System 7.0 or later.
  28. Once you have placed Quicktime into your System Folder, restart your
  29. computer and double click on "HOT SLOTS!" Icon to start The Program!
  30.  
  31. Expect a ten to thirty second delay after starting The Program (depending
  32. on the speed of your computer). While playing The Program, expect a slight
  33. delay after mouse clicking a button.

  37. We recommend the following for best performance:

  39. Ñ     Disable any screen savers you may have running.
  40. Ñ     Use System 7.0 or later, may run with Systems below 
  41.             System 7, but is not recommended.
  42. Ñ     Use Quicktime 2.0
  43. Ñ     Use Sound Manager 3.0
  44. Ñ     4 Megabytes of FREE RAM (8 MB recommended).
  45. Ñ     Macintosh LC or greater.
  46. Ñ     68030 CPU or greater, may run with 68020, but is not recommended.
  47. Ñ     13" Color Monitor with atleast 256 colors.
  48. Ñ     Double Speed CD-ROM Drive.

  53. HOT SLOTS can run in 8 bit, 16 bit, or 24 bit color. To play HOT SLOTS
  54. in other than 256 colors (8 bit), simply adjust your Monitor settings to either 
  55. Thousands or Millions of colors (Read your Apple User Manual for instructions
  56. on adjusting your Monitor "Color" settings). Keep in mind, you may require an
  57. additional Video Card or VRAM to facilitate playback at these higher color settings.
